Leica- Expired

Leica M6 Europe
When I was given the Leica camera I was given a pile of film and most of it was expired. I decided to give a roll a go and big surprise, it did effect the quality. The photos turned out grainy and really lack in giving shadow and depth. But some people are into grainy shots, so here's to you. These shots are taking throughout Eastern Europe at the end of last year. Not sure if I will use the rest of these expired rolls, so if you want some, let me know.

Leica- Gemany/Vienna

Germany 2012

So this is my first roll of film developed from one of my favourite new cameras, my Leica M6. It has taken me a while to get used to this camera, with its separate lens/viewfinder and getting used to using a light meter is has been a challenge. This was a cheap roll of film but picks up some serious colour. These photos were taken throughout Germany and Vienna in November of last year. I really miss Autumn, especially now we are living in an area of Australia that has no real change in seasons.

Glasgow, Scotland

Well, we have left Glasgow for Oslo and looking back at our time there, the things we loved the most were things we have easy access to in Australia. The things we are most excited about are the very Anglo things we seem to miss about our old home. Things like meat pies, fish and chips, people speaking english, peanut butter and OP SHOPS GALORE! It was such a cool city filled with vintage stores, craft markets, old buildings, a huge cemetery (kims favourite pastime) and the smell of bacon and haggis in the air. With alot of free museums, great coffee shops and micro breweries we walked around the city with a skip in our step.

Scotland Countryside

Scotland

On our way to Glasgow we stopped to stay a night at one of Kims old friends from Melbourne. They live in a small sea side town and hour north of Glasgow and even drove us in to spend the day in Glasgow. It was so nice to spend time with Eliza and her husband Tim and learn about Scotland, beer, whisky, folk music and share our many stories of travel. Our highlight, sitting in an old pub lounge listening to 6 or more old and young Scots playing traditional folk music. Here are a few shots from around West Kilbride, Tim and Eliza's lovely neck of the woods.

roll of rollei [round 2]

cemetary
This is a few shots from the second roll of film we put through the Rolleiflex. We were really happy with the first roll, so it was exciting to see some more great shots. We are now on the search for some colour film to try out. Thanks again to Cesar for doing a great job developing the film.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux 1

This past weekend Morgan and I got away for a couple of days to Bordeaux to celebrate my 25th birthday. Exploring a new city was the best way to celebrate a quarter of a century. We went to flea markets, strolled old cobble streets, had picnics with wine and cheese in the park, did a spot of shopping, and ate very very well. It was everything I love rolled into one. We also got to meet up with Adeline which was a blast, and was great to have some local knowledge.

roll of rollei

Scan-120612-0010

Today I had a lovely surprise waiting in my inbox from our good friend Cesar. He was so kind as to develop our first roll of film from our rolleiflex. We met Cesar through blogging and both love his blog, check it here. I am excited to shoot more on this amazing camera and get into using colour film again. Anyway, here are a few shots from roll #1. Thanks Cesar.
