Christmas tunes

We have had a few people ask if we will have a new Christmas mix out again this year, but unfortunately because our computer is still broken we can't make one. However, that doesn't mean you don't get to have any new Christmas music this year... Sufjan Stevens has put out a great new Christmas album "Silver and Gold" which is just $15 for 59 beautiful tracks. If that isn't a Christmas bargain, I don't know what is. On the blogging front, Cesar has a new traditional mix out this year and so do the Gallo's, so check those two out.
Also if you are new around here, you can download our last two Christmas mixtapes here and here.
Only two weeks to go, so get your Christmas music pumping! Kim has been at it since October.

With the whole season of LOVE flying 'round at the moment, I thought I would take a quick moment to share a couple of things I think are rather remarkable and am LOVING right now.

- my friend kerrie-anne has just recently launched her new shop and has created some beautiful things. We carted one of her charming photo blocks around the world and it is sitting proudly on our new home.

- natalie has revealed her great new project print :: a year in film. I think this is such an incredible idea, and you should go check it out.

- diana shared a cute recipe to make vegan doughnuts. Now I just have to convince morgan to let me buy a doughnut pan so I can try it out.

- i have been inspired by emma in her challenge to make a loaf of bread every week, and tomorrow, im going to bake some bread.

- and finally evie did a great restyle/diy of a simple singlet which turned out awesome.

diy round up

So in the past week or so I've completed a couple of great DIY's which I have made following some great online tutorials. Here is four simple and fun DIY's, all of which can be completed in around an hour.


i made a pair of shorts from a tutorial from maycie after five


i made an awesome tote bag from a tutorial from megan nielsen design diary


i made a skirt from a tutorial on the etsy blog


and my lovely sister sarah made me a wrap bangle from a tutorial from lune vintage

ps. you might wonder why these projects were all so cheap to make. I have had some great luck recently, finding lovely material in the remnants box at my local craft store. Make sure you always check to see if there is anything worth your while in the remnants box. Great way to source fabric.

Wow! The year has flown, and it has been so fun blogging and meeting different people through this weird format. It has been a blast. new look...

Thanks to the lovely Katrina and her awesome blog Powered by Pastries we have a shiny new blog layout. It's been so fun to play with and get our nerd on playing with HTML code and learning lots in Katrina's awesome tutorials. Ohh and how awesome is the 'petit pas' embroidery morgan whipped up... classic.

There will be a few more additions to come so bear with us as we learn the in's and out's, but we hope it makes it easier to read and enjoy our blog.
